Somehow managed to lose my only key fob last week, no spare, which I know is my own fault for never getting one cut. The dealer quoted an amount that genuinely made me laugh before I realised they weren’t joking, so I’m looking at alternatives. I’ve been searching for Quick key programming at Exotic Auto Services, but I want to understand whether an independent can actually programme a new key properly or if this is dealer only territory. Has anyone had a key replaced and programmed outside the dealer and been happy with it? Also, how long does it usually take, and do they need the car present or just the key? I’d rather sort this quickly since I’m relying on lifts at the moment.
