My Range Rover has been at a garage for six days now and I am starting to lose my patience. It began with a water pump leak that I noticed when I saw a pink puddle under the front of the car. The garage said it would take two days, maybe three if the part was late. Then they found a second problem, then the part came wrong, and now nobody gives me a clear answer when I call. I take a taxi to work every morning and it is slowly eating my salary. My friend says this is normal with these cars because the parts are special and not every workshop keeps them in stock. My uncle says a good workshop should always plan ahead and order parts the same day. I do not know who is right, so I started reading at night to understand how it should work. I saw a page that mentioned a fast Range Rover repair service, and it made me wonder if speed is even possible without cutting corners. I do not want a quick job if it means they skip something important. But I also cannot live like this for another week. So how long should a normal repair take? Is a leak like mine a one day job, or does it always turn into three? When a garage says a part is coming, how do you know if they really ordered it or if they are just saying it to calm you down? Is it fine to ask for a photo of the receipt or the part box? I also wonder if I should have asked for a price in writing before leaving the car. They only said a number on the phone, and now I worry it will grow. Another thing, is it smart to take the car to another place for a second opinion, or will that make everyone angry and slow things down more? Someone told me I can even bring my own parts, but I am not sure that is a good idea on a car like this. And what about the old part, should I ask them to keep it so I can see it? If you have waited too long for a repair, what did you do? And if you found a place that told you the truth about timing and kept the promise, how did you know it was the right one?
