I hope someone here can tell me if I handled this the right way. Two days ago I had dinner with friends near Business Bay and when I came back to my car, it would not wake up at all. I pressed the start button three or four times and only got a tiny click, like the car was too tired to try. My friends were already gone, so it was just me standing there with my phone. I did not have jumper cables and I felt shy to ask people walking by. I opened my phone and searched, and one page said car won’t start in Business Bay? this team can jump start it, which made me feel a little calmer because at least I knew help like this exists. I called the number, and a technician came after about twenty minutes. He used a small booster box and the car started fast. He also tested the battery and told me it was getting weak, but he did not say I must buy a new one right now. I liked that he did not push me. Now I have some questions for you all. Was twenty minutes a normal wait for you, or can it be faster? Is it fine to pay before the work or only after? I paid after, and it felt fair, but I am not sure about the usual price. Also, after a jump start, how long should I drive so the battery gets charged? He told me around thirty minutes, but my cousin says one hour is better. My car is about four years old and I mostly do short trips to work, maybe ten minutes each way. Could that be hurting the battery? I also leave my phone charger plugged in sometimes when the car is parked, and now I wonder if that matters. Should I change the battery soon or wait until it fails again? I do not want to be stuck in the heat with my family one day. Please share what you did and what you learned. Thanks, I will check the replies tonight.
