I need new tyres and I’m weighing up whether to pay a shop for fitting or attempt it myself with a jack and some basic tools. I’m reasonably handy but I’ve never done it before and I’m worried about getting the torque wrong or damaging something. I came across https://alzaabiautocare.com/services/car-tyre-change/ while looking into what’s involved, but I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually done it both ways. Is fitting genuinely something a beginner can do safely, or is it one of those jobs where it’s cheaper in the long run to just pay someone? Also, what about balancing, does that need equipment I won’t have at home? I’d rather not create a dangerous situation on the motorway to save a bit of money.
