For the past few days my car has been making this single loud click when I turn the key and then nothing, though occasionally it fires up like normal which is what’s confusing me. I’ve had a go at the battery terminals and they look clean, so I’m leaning towards the starter or maybe a relay, but I’m not confident enough to start swapping parts myself. I’m in Khalifa City and I’d rather find someone nearby than tow it halfway across Abu Dhabi. A neighbour mentioned Reliable auto electrician for alternator and starter motor problems in Khalifa City but I’ve never used them and I don’t want to hand the car over blind. Has anyone actually had a starter or alternator diagnosed around here? And how do I know they’ll test properly instead of just charging me for a new unit? Would appreciate any real feedback before I commit.
