Figured I’d write this up since brakes are one of those jobs where everyone has an opinion and nobody tells you what it actually ended up costing. My Grand Cherokee started squealing at low speed and the pedal felt a touch softer than it used to, so I booked it in after putting it off for a few weeks because honestly I was expecting the usual runaround. Turned out the pads were nearly gone and one disc had a nice little groove in it that I definitely would have ignored for another month. I went in asking specifically about Genuine Jeep brake pad replacement in Musaffah because I didn’t want some generic pad that squeals from day one, and the difference is noticeable, quiet and the pedal feels firm again like it did when I bought it. The thing I’d do differently is ask them upfront to show me the old parts and explain what they were replacing before they start, not after, because once the car’s on the lift you just nod and say yes to whatever they tell you. Anyway if you’re sitting on a squeal thinking it’ll sort itself out, it won’t, and it’s cheaper to deal with before the discs get chewed up.
